Who this applies to

This policy covers anyone who uses the Footy Labs platform: club staff, agents, players, and visitors to public player profiles.

Data we collect

Account data you give us directly: name, email address, password (securely stored), club or agency affiliation, and role (club staff, agent, or player).

Profile and performance data: for players, this can include contract status, salary and salary expectations, preferred leagues or countries, relocation preferences, languages spoken, highlight video links, and performance statistics sourced from third-party football data providers and publicly available sources.

Marketplace and review data: recruitment needs and listings posted by clubs, and club reviews submitted by players, including ratings and written comments. Club reviews are shown anonymously to other users.

Usage data: pages visited, features used, and device or browser information, collected automatically through the analytics tools described below.

How we use your data

  • run your account and show you the dashboards and tools for your role
  • match clubs, agents, and players against recruitment needs and listings
  • show player and club statistics, scores, and comparisons
  • improve the platform, including through product analytics
  • send account-related emails, such as verification and password reset

We process your data to provide the service, based on contractual necessity, legitimate interests, consent where applicable, and legal obligations.

Who sees your data

Performance statistics and public player profiles are visible to anyone with the link, where a player has opted in to a public profile. Salary, contact, and personal preference data is only visible to club staff and agents using the platform, not to the public.

Club reviews are shown to other users without attributing them to the reviewer by name.

We do not sell your data. We share data with the service providers listed below strictly to run the platform.

Cookies and analytics

  • PostHog: product analytics (page views, feature usage).
  • Microsoft Clarity: session recordings and heatmaps, to see how the platform is used and fix usability issues.

These tools set cookies or use local storage to identify your browser across visits. You can block cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect how the platform works.

Data retention

We keep account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we need to keep it to meet a legal obligation or resolve a dispute.

Your rights

  • ask what data we hold about you
  • correct inaccurate data
  • ask us to delete your data
  • get a copy of your data in a portable format
  • object to certain uses of your data

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption and access controls. No system is completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe and address issues promptly if they arise.

Children

Footy Labs is intended for club staff, agents, and players aged 16 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform changes. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do.
